Modernising a house doesn't mean that everything old has to be demolished and replaced. This project is set within a 1900s apartment block, and was unlivable in its original condition. The client wanted a modern minimalist style, but also loved the original features of the apartment: the decorative tiled fireplaces, colourful glazed doors, and detailed cornices. The new design envisioned spaces that centred around these historical elements. Bespoke fitted carpentry maximised storage space, balancing a clean, simple design language with the Edwardian-style mansion architecture. The finished spaces convey a sense of coziness, a calm retreat in the middle of the Fulham neighbourhood.
